Stylized Racer - "The Duke"

I made this character for my character design class at SNHU. I had to design and create a character to fit into a notional game-concept. In this case it was for a kids racing game set inside a house. I drew a lot of inspiration from old metal race-car toys and obviously drivers from the 1920s and 1930s. The prompt for the class was to come up with the backstory, concept art, the character sheet, make the low poly and high poly model and create the turntable. I rigged and posed the character as well to show off his personality a bit too. To challenge myself I dove into the 2D aspect a bit more as well and finally got around to use my wacom tablet more in photoshop where I created the concept art.

For the character sheet I combined the best elements of the original concept and created the final version along with facial expressions, minor details and front, back and side profile views.
